The seeds for OHM GROWN Records were planted in 1997 when Oliver Meurer and friends started to promote independent music in Toronto, Canada. The results were a perfect channel to explore the creative elements of dub, dance and the late night magic of DJs and sound systems. As collaborations grew between the musicians, DJs and producers, OHM GROWN Records flourished with the mandate to produce and distribute universally conscious music. Today OHM GROWN Records takes care of live event planning and management as well as marketing, distribution, promotions and licensing on behalf of our artists. We produce and manufacture CDs, limited edition 12" vinyl and 45 singles. Our mutual support network of globally like-minded organisations, promoters, distributors, retailers, DJs and other agents of positive change ensure that the artists are heard internationally and help to promote our common ideals. From Roots Rock Reggae to Raga, from Dub to Dance, from the Devotion of the East to the Freedom of the West, OHM GROWN Records strives to represent the spirit of our global community; music for the true way. Taking the friends & family approach to running our label, all of our artists enjoy a personal and collaborative relationship with each other, either as solo artists or as part of a bigger musical collective. All of our signed artists enjoy equity shares in our label, which is nurturing generations of OHM GROWN releases to come.
